My Shangri-La Outfit

On Wednesday night (25th Feb) me and some friends went to Shangri-La at Glam, Cardiff. Shangri-La, in their own words, is Cardiff and Liverpool's finest student night hosting only the best house DJs.

This one was host to Secondcity, best-known for 'I Wanna Feel', along with other DJs. They gave us all an amazing night of brilliant house music along with such a great atmosphere! I thoroughly enjoyed it.

For this post, I would like to share my chosen outfit for this event. During the day (Wed), me and the girls I went with popped to town. I took this as an opportunity to pick up some new pieces for the night. It's such a nice feeling getting ready for a night out and putting on brand new clothes:

Firstly, I decided that because it was a house night and girls don't tend to wear heels, that I'd dress in more of a nice, casual (ish) style. I knew I wanted to wear my converse so my outfit was designed around them really.

White Shorts - River Island, £30.
The white high-waisted shorts were an item I had seen before and had in mind when thinking about what to buy as I loved them. I tried them on and they fitted really nicely -  not too big around the waist and not too short in length. Being 5ft 11, I struggle to find nice high waisted shorts that fit well but these were a must-have after trying them! I think they are gorgeous. Pure white, with an embossed rose pattern. They were an ideal buy for Shang, and they'll be perfect for my holiday in the summer too!

Yellow Crop Top - Primark, £6.
After going into River Island and buying these, we looked around a few other shops before heading into Primark. We strolled through and I couldn't really see anything until we were about to leave and I spotted this crop top. I was quite surprised at how nice it was when I picked it up as I usually don't buy clothes from Primark, just accessories or beauty products. For just £6, it was a bargain. I know where I'll be going for my holiday shop. It is a lovely stretch material which sits really well on. A very good buy in my opinion.

Gold Pendant Necklace - Primark, £6.
I bought this necklace last spring, so it probably isn't in Primark anymore but I have seen some gorgeous necklaces in there at the moment. This one I bought for nights out as I love the statement gold chain with the black and silver pendant. This was ideal for Shang as I had quite a plain outfit therefore added the sparkle that was needed.

White All Star Converse - tReds, £44.99
These converse were bought for me buy my parents for my 20th birthday, and I wear them so much. They bought them from tReds, but you can find them in so many shops that sell shoes. I can see why some people have so many. I have three pairs now (pink, black and white), but my white ones are my absolute favourite. They just go with so many of my outfits and are really comfy. With this outfit, I wore them with white frilly socks (Dorothy Perkins, £2.99) and it looked really cute. Converse are definitely worth the money as they last so long. Mine have slight wear on the inside heel back now but I've had them 7 months and I cannot stress how much I wear them. They are great for many different occasions and I really liked them with this outfit for Shangri-La.

Here is a photo of me in the outfit with my friend Jessie before we left to head to Glam (Warning: AWFUL quality and lighting - sorry! I will take a decent one next time):
