Journalism Ball Outfit

Last night I had my final ever University ball with my course. It was held at the Angel Hotel in Cardiff, which was such a beautiful location for it.

I had a great time spending it with all my friends, and the event was put on so well. The venue was stunning and the whole evening was amazing.

For this occasion, it was formal wear therefore I wanted a dress that looked just right for this. There were a variety of gorgeous dresses on show last night, everything from short, midi and maxi, all different styles and colours too.

Being 5ft 11" I find it difficult finding a maxi dress to fit, so I opted for a knee length. I saw this dress whilst scrolling through online and thought it was so elegant and I just had to have it. It is a coral pink lace dress with thin straps that cross at the back (as you can see in the photo). I purchased this from janenorman.com for only £30! When it arrived I was so pleased as it fitted lovely. My advice for you is if you do buy this dress, order a size up from the measurements - I measured at an 8, however the 8's were out of stock so I thought I risk a 10. Turns out the 10 was perfect anyway.

My shoes were bought for me as a Christmas present in 2014. They were from Next and were £45. These shoes look so beautiful on, however they were super painful after about 3 hours. Despite this, I made it from 7pm until 1.30am before having to leave because of the pain. I think I may save these just for meals or anything that isn't very long and involves sitting down.

My necklace I actually bought on the day. I popped into town to return a pair of shoes and thought I'd have a browse in a few shops. I picked this up in Dorothy Perkins. It was £10 and I thought it was ideal to go with my dress and wasn't too big but still had that slight glisten to it.

Finally, my clutch bag was bought a few months ago from Select for £10. I've seen similar bags to this in many shops but they've always been £15+ so when I saw this I had to get it. It matched lovely with my shoes and dress and was just the right size for what I needed.

Have you purchased any of these items, or similar, before?
Let me know what you think of this look :)
