Beauty on a Budget

When I'm having a casual day I don't like to go overboard with my make up or waste my more expensive make up so I like to keep it simple with my key budget make up items.

I like to use simple, inexpensive products on my more casual days and save my best items for events or certain occasions. I've tried many high street brands and thought I'd share my current extras that I use over my base; lip liner, lipstick, eyebrow pencil and mascaras.

These products are great and so cheap too.

Firstly, the eyebrow pencil I'm currently using is the Rimmel London Professional Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown (Order Here). It was featured in one of my recent posts, '3 Products I'm Loving Right Now'. This pencil is ideal for the perfect brow, it's so easy to use and it's only £2.99! It has a small brush on the lid to smooth brows before application which also helps to find them stray hairs that need plucking. I used to use a wax kit for my brows, however after using this pencil I won't be going back. I love this product and would recommend it to anyone.

Secondly, the mascaras. I always use two mascaras as I find this helps to build the lash better. I was hestitant to try the black one in the photo as this is the Make Up Gallery Plump Up The Volume black mascara by Poundland (Order Here). I was surprised when I first used it at how nicely it applied. I use this one as my base coat as it isn't thick enough for the top coat but does a brilliant job for what I need when I just want to pop on a cheap mascara! My go-to top coat mascara is the Natural Collection Lash Length in black (Order Here), which is just £1.99! I love this mascara, and love the price even more. It is great. It really does what it says and lengthens my lashes so well, especially after applying my first coat of the Make Up Gallery mascara.

Finally, the lips. I recently purchased the Extra Lasting lipstick from Avon which unfortunately has been discontinued, but there are many gorgeous alternatives (Browse Here). I love Avon lipsticks, there is such a variety - from moisturising, to matte, to anti-aging. I think this colour is gorgeous, especially with a monochrome outfit, or one that needs that pop of colour in the make up. The lip liner I use is the Maybelline New York Color Drama Lipstick in Keep It Classy for £4.99. I think this particular colour is also discontinued, but there is a similar looking colour called 'Red Essential' (Order Here). Yes, it is actually labelled as a lipstick but I find it so easy and ideal to use as a liner. It is a bit too dry for a lipstick really. I actually bought this to match a 'champagne' coloured lipstick, because the colour on the end of the liner matched the lipstick colour perfectly. It wasn't until I applied it to my lips that I found there was a significant colour difference to what it looks like on the base. However, when I bought this lipstick I thought I'd try the two together and they match perfectly which was great! I love these lip products, they are so easy and smooth to apply and the colour is just amazing.

Have you tried any of these products before?
What are your favourite 'budget beauty' items? I'd love to try them out.
