Little Black Dress

Tuesday night me and some of the girls went out in Cardiff to celebrate my friend's 21st birthday. We went to Revolution (Revs), which tends to be smart/casual dress.

When I go to Revs, I like to style an outfit to go with a pair of heels. Tuesday night was the same. I have a pair of black block heels which I wear a lot, so wanted an outfit to go with my pink heels - ones I haven't worn out in ages! They are quite a bright pink, so I didn't want an outfit that would distract too much or overpower my look.

After scanning through my wardrobe I thought it would be nice to have a plain-ish outfit with the shoes being used for a pop of colour.
I decided to wear my black long sleeved bodycon dress (Primark). It was the ideal dress for a simple yet effective look. The black didn't overpower my look at all, and made my pink heels (New Look) stand out. To add that extra pop of colour, I matched my lip stick (Avon) and necklace (Select) with my shoes and I thought it worked really well. I was debating on taking my pink clutch bag out with me but I thought this may have been slightly too much. Instead, I chose to keep it simple and take my black and gold clutch (New Look) which matched the gold from my necklace.

I really thought carefully about the details of this outfit to achieve the look that I was going for. All these elements together seemed to work nicely, and I love having a background colour such as the black with that pop of pink!

What do you think of this outfit?
Do you have any tips for future outfits like this?
